”Beware of Greeks bearing gifts” – but what if the gifts are ten bottles of award-winning wines?
This event offers the opportunity to taste 10 distinctive wines from two regions of Greece – Santorini and the Peloponnese. The aim is to showcase indigenous varietals such as Agiorgitiko, Assyrtiko, Mavrotragano and Moschofilero grapes, alongside a few classics. Paris Sigalas of Domaine Sigalas, from Santorini, and Apostolos Spiropoulos, from Domaine Spiropoulos, will be presenting their wines and explaining the vine history, different varietals, vinification process and the impact the soil has (Santorini hosts an active volcano) on the wine taste.
The evening will start at 6.30pm with an apéritif and canapés, followed by the tasting at Lutyens new wine bar. Thanks to the kind support of Maltby & Greek, tickets for this event are just £40pp, to include all 10 wines, plus a variety of Greek meze including the world-renowned Trikalinos bottarga, Geitonas smoked eel and Meligyris honeys.
