Stop Press! A fantastic new event has been added to our schedule. Eric Baugher, one of California’s pre-eminent winemakers, is visiting London and we’ve persuaded him to host a tasting. Eric is Director of Winemaking at Ridge Vineyards' Monte Bello Winery in California's Santa Cruz Mountains and heads the winemaking team with legendary founder Paul Draper. Ridge wines famously prevailed at the legendary Judgement of Paris tasting, in 1976, and reconfirmed their prestige position at the 2006 re-enactment, proving their wines potential for longevity by winning with the 1971 Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon. Unlike most other Californian wineries, they produce elegant and refined wines - this month’s Decanter magazine awards Ridge Monte Bello a near unbeatable 19.5 out of 20.
