Chêne Bleu is an award-winning, critically acclaimed new winemaker from the southern Rhône, described by journalists as a “rising star” poised to “achieve cult wine status”. The wines come from a family-operated single-estate boutique winery located in the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains, near Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. |
 |
The ancient estate was purchased by Xavier Rolet in 1993, and with his wife, Nicole, he began renovation of the medieval priory and vineyard to the highest international standards. They were joined by his sister and brother-in-law, Bénédicte and Jean Louis Gallucci, viticulture and oenology specialists. Together with Nicole, Bénédicte and Jean Louis manage the vineyard, the winery and the wines, as Xavier is currently tied up with his responsibilities running the London Stock Exchange. From the outset, they took a very radical and perfectionist approach, using pioneering qualitative and biodynamic practices to underscore the unusual and exciting terroir. Their project promptly attracted the attention of top professionals in the wine trade, and the small batches of limited-edition wines wines have met with critical success from the very first vintage. |
