Hof's, Robertson Valley South African Wines
Tasting and Dinner
Wednesday, 13 October |
Lourens van der Westhuizen, winemaker of the "Hof´s South African Wine Selection", will join us and present Hof´s, Arendsig and Star Hill, the finest handcrafted boutique wines from Robertson. Known locally as the Valley of Wine and Roses, the magnificent landscapes, towering cliffs and crystal clear streams of the fertile Robertson Valley make picturesque beginnings for the wines. The ideal soil and climate conditions of the Robertson region ensure grapes with good fruit concentration and character. |
Small quantities of the best grapes from each vintage are handcrafted into elegant well-structured wines, released in limited quantities. |
The event starts at 7.15pm with a tasting of 11 wines, followed by a dinner at 8.15pm. |

Mas de Daumas Gassac Languedoc Wines
Talk, Tasting and Dinner
Tuesday, 26 October |
One of the most interesting and romantic stories in the world of wine is the development of the Mas de Daumas Gassac vineyards. Join us on Monday 26 October and learn how over the past 40 years the Guibert family has established a range of excellent Grand Cru Languedoc wines. |
Samuel Guibert, head winemaker and owner, will present his world-renowned wines and chronicle events from his family establishing a home in the Arboussas mountains in 1970 and the planting of uncloned vines sourced from some of the greatest Bordeaux estates to why the microclimate is so important. |
For those that are familiar with Mondovino, the award-winning film about the wine industry, you might already recall the name and how the family successfully defended the concept of terroir over international wines and rejected the marauding capitalists at Mondavi. |
