If you have been wondering why we're on Twitter and what social media have to do with wine, well, I suggest that you read on...

I became a 'tweeter' during the 2008 Bordeaux en primeur campaign. A few individuals started using it as a medium for expressing their immediate impressions of the wines. It struck me as a great way of giving people a taste of what's happening at any moment, and so we started using it at the restaurant.

During this year's Bordeaux 2009 primeurs, interest had grown significantly and there were at least 100 different wine writers or merchants sending out 140 character tasting notes - this all helped add to the hype... which let's face it, wasn't necessary with the quality of some of the top châteaux wines.

But the opportunity to communicate with top wine professionals such as Tim Atkin about the controversial Cos d'Estournel '09, and to get the impressions of Gavin Quinney on the release prices in comparison to previous years was invaluable.

So, if you're interested in wine, and want the latest news then Twitter is the place to be. It took me a little while to find my way, so to help you, our Château Boundary members, I have set up a collection of lists on our Twitter page where you can follow Wine Communicators, Wine Merchants, Wine Producers, Restaurants/Bars/Cafes and Sommeliers.

We will also endeavour to make sure that we post any articles that might be of interest and keep you informed of what's currently good drinking at Boundary.
